The breaking up of the service provider market is great for choice and control from a quality perspective but it has brought a lot of issues when it comes to the actual billing for NDIS services.

Some common problems we heard are:

  • The service provider gets the amount or quantity wrong
  • I have to constantly check invoices
  • I get too many invoices from too many providers
  • Sometimes I miss an invoice
  • Sometimes the service provider lets it build up and I have trouble paying it because there’s a new plan
  • I struggle to see what the NDIS funding is spent on
  • I spend a heap of hours handling my invoices and accounting for them
  • I’ve had services for a while but I had a problem paying the invoice.

Because of these problems there is a lot of stress put on an NDIS participant or their nominated representative. This payment stress is an unwanted headache on top of all the other service related tasks that they need to do.

If we could alleviate this stress by creating a single payment method that simplifies and collects all of the invoices in one bill that needs to be paid once a month we think this could really help.

Disclaimer: This is not an exhaustive list of all payment types that disabled people/a person with disability would face. It might be a similar situation to the one you face or it might be completely irrelevant. Either way it comes from a real person that has challenged us to solve it for them.
